Oh man, I'm actually in the market for a nice wireless speaker and have been eyeing this model for a while now. Really wish this was the price on Amazon....I try to give Best Buy as little of my business as possible.

I just clicked "tell us about a lower price" and filled out the info at Amazon. Hopefully it helps. BestBuy is usually one of the vendors that Amazon likes to price match...

Why anybody would pay 400 or even 300 on a "deal" for a single wireless speaker is beyond me... For that price I could put together a solid 2.1 system that makes this look like a shitty little toy.

Seriously though, if you know of a compact, all-in-one, airplay enabled speaker that sounds better than this at a similar or lower price, please let me know. I'm in the market for one and would honestly appreciate recommendations.

Are you looking for something portable? You're right that this isn't something I'd be looking to add to my setup. I just find it way more practical to invest that money into a real media system that consists of a networked A/V receiver. That way you could stream to it from PC's, NAS devices, Phones, Tablets, etc. As well, you could put together some high quality speakers that would make the room shake at a price point that really isn't that bad.

I got a pair of 200w PolkAudio Monitor 60's and a 250w JBL powered sub for $320. Not exactly compact, but the quality of sound that comes out of these things is seriously awesome for that price. I have a center channel, and 2 rears as well that I added over time. The total cost for the setup ended up around 800 over the span of 2 years.

I guess it's just me, but I really don't see how one feature (airplay) justifies such a ridiculous list price. I did just take a look, though, and found that this is the general range for speakers of that sort. So hey, if you're into it, go for it.
