Which TV should I go with?
My Samsung 50" Plasma got two horizontal lines at the top. Luckily I purchased an extra 3 years of warranty from Walmart. Now they said they can't fix it so they want to replace it with a brand new TV The models they gave me to choose from are.. Samsung PN51E450 - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung...an+Options Panasonic TC-P50X5 - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Panason...ifications LG 50PA4500 - http://www.amazon.com/LG-50PA4500...B0072260GW -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So far in my research I have come up with this : Samsung = Best Reviews Panasonic = Better Features LG = Super thin frame. I have to let them know in a few hours so I thought I would ask for some expert device, THANKS. |

I studied TV's until I was blue in the face and what I found out is that Samsungs have the best picture, butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt, they often blow the screens. OFTEN !
And yes, mine did too. And now I have a lowly LG, because I'm damned if I'm going to pay that much money for a TV that only lasts a few years. I'm not suggesting to buy an LG. I'm suggesting to NOT buy a Samsung, unless you don't care about how long it lasts, in which case, definitely buy it, as it has the best image. |

What do you do with it? Movies, TV, Sports, gaming?
Kind of hard to compare across different sites to a degree. Your amazon shoppers will be a bit different from your walmart shoppers. You can see that in just the length of each review. Try searching http://www.avsforum.com/f/ for each model number and see if anything comes up. These guys are obsessed and should have an indication of quality of the screens etc. Personally based off name and my experience I would go with Samsung, Panasonic, LG in that order, but the Panasonic in this case looks to be pretty good. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Thanks guys. I choose another Samsung because the review at CNET for the Panasonic was just too bad.
I will just get another Warranty extension from Wal-Mart, it saved my butt last time. One cool thing is that they let me keep the old 50"Samsung and the only thing wrong is two thin black lines going across the top. It is still very watchable and I will just try to find another room to put it in. |
