The clock rate is misleading in this case because the Myst accomplishes more per clock. If it helps, a comparison would be the jump in performance you'd see moving from a Pentium 4 3.8 GHz to a Core 2 3.0 Ghz (though without the big jump in power/thermal efficiency). As far as this deal goes, this is a good price for the 7870. I had my eye on one for a while, and I don't think I saw anything cheaper since the late December $180 deals. http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=...omoid=1139 Click a random link for a Radeon 7850, 7870, 7950, or 7970 card, and refresh and see the advertisement at the top. If it is Radeon, click it and see that we should still get the bundle. I want my bundle or the cost value of it :T |

Just refreshed, bundle is there again...Although im kinda skeptical. Anyone know how the digital download works? is it like one code per game? Or is it 1 code for both games. Because if i do buy it, i'd want to sell the games since i won't be playing either of them.

I already have a Sapphire 7870... should I get this card to crossfire or spend the money on a new 3770k from Microcenter for $230? I currently have a 2500k @ 4.5 GHz.
Decisions, decisions... Realistically the second 7870 will give me better overall gaming FPS, but the 3770k will be more future proof and handles video better. What do you guys think? |

I'd get a 3770k and wait for the 8xxx series of GPUs to come out. |

In spite of the incredible racket I can't bring myself to part with them. I'm getting over 12,400 3DMark 11 on a 2500K. A single 7970 GHz Edition gets about 8,400 on the same CPU for the same price. I'm going to install my old Antec 620 on the inner card to quiet it down. Incidentally, of the two I have one runs nearly 20C hotter than the other. I think either the coolers are installed by chimps or they use inconsistent/inadequate TIM. If you're getting 85C on a single card arrangement chances are the cooler is not seated properly. |

Bought it after having looked longingly at the 7850 1 GB and occasional low price 660's (non Ti) over the last several weeks.
E-mailed NCIX and the response by Richard Wong was that the card qualified for the AMD promo even if I didn't see it. By the time I re-loaded the page, the "Never Settle Reloaded" bundle was back and it showed up in the cart as item #2. Thanks for the tipoff on the deal OP! |
