I just joined PS+ about 3 months ago, I have downloaded one game (Bomberman)... got a $5 code.
I guess I am only worth 50% of a customer. |

Why do people accept this? You buy digital music today you will be able to use it almost anywhere and from almost any device, forever. That's how digital purchases should work. I'll be building a steambox (or buying one?) and going that route for my gaming fix. Done. |

Valve will finally end up doing something and it'll probably be lackluster. It's a shame, all they really need is to make a compact, Mac Mini sized with the same specs as the PS4/720 that runs on a lightweight, instant on version of Linux. Offer Steam on it with the same market structure/sales that they're doing with the Windows side of the house. Then offer consumers the option to sideload their own copy of Windows and encourage PC only developers to offer a Valve box optimized version of the software. Update the hardware every 4 years. But make it still FEEL like a console, even if it's a full blown PC. I think a lot of gamers would flock to something like this because the software would be reasonably priced and they wouldn't be locked into Steams infrastructure (i.e., they could use it as a PC if they wanted, buy games from elsewhere, etc). If nothing else, it would be the FPS players console of choice. I think there will always be a market for the type of experience Nintendo provides, though. |

I have a theory. I was looking at free themes for PS+ and came across a dragon dynamic theme. I watched the trailer for it which is just a low quality recording of the theme on a tv screen. At the top of a internet connected PS3 output, there is a notification banner. In that banner on the theme preview, it said spend $60 on PSN get $10 back. I am wondering if that is what's going on here.

Update: Sony has confirmed to Dale North that it has the ability to honor your PSN purchases through its cloud service. If it chooses to, it can give you everything back in streaming form. Of course, it's not said it will -- and if it doesn't after saying this, it'll open itself up to major criticism. Gotta hope Sony does the decent thing.
