good drive good price?

Looks like the trend is finally starting to show SSDs going down again... have seen a few deals over the past weeks. For me this is a much better deal than the Sandisk @ TD since I have no tax in FL, and ShopRunner at NE.

My problem is, I really only need a 64gb drive (replacing a work laptop drive with XP), so should I wait until I can find a deal on that, or just take the larger space and additional cost?

Get a larger drive. They are faster and last longer. Besides, I have not seen a deal on 60-64 GB in ages.

I would also like a smaller drive, let's say 90gb at a better price, but It's been mentioned that anything smaller than 120 doesn't seem to get discounted much.

I was told to always wear protection if I did want to catch an SDD. Not sure why people are so happy about buying one.

OT: as a gamer I would gleefully die for the chance to have the babies of any product that uses a combination of numbers and shorthand to formulate an X-Tr3m adjective or description, still, reviews of this particular drive are pretty sparse [read: all but non-existent]. Does anyone actually own one of these? Price seems good, but I guess the memory of picking up Samsung 830s for the same money has jaundiced my perception of current SSD deals. Hmmm.

but Numbers given out by manufactures don't mean that much IMHO.

I actually look for benchmarks and testing from reputable sites.

I made a modest statement. PNY makes modest claims. Benchmarks just quoted for those unfamiliar with the drive.

Benchmarks claims for SSDs released by the majors are usually close to independent results. Yes, PNY is a "major."

Since you "actually look for benchmarks and testing from reputable sites" I'm sure you'll be sharing those links with us shortly.

120gbs tend to be slower than their 240gb counterparts, still this drive tends to benchmark decent enough, though the 120 has an inferior controller
