AFAIK, a great number of handguns are made outside of the US. Springfield has a contract for over 2 milion handguns with HS in Croatia, Glock is made in Austria, Beretta in Italy, etc. I dont actually know if there is one US made handgun that is top of the line at this point.
Ruger is made in the usa. The sr9c/sr40c are very nice pistols. Some Glocks are made in usa. They used to export them but some of them are now being sold in the usa also.

I've had a Beretta (notice spelling) PX4 Storm Compact chambered in 9mm that has taken any round I could shove in her, and asked for more! I've blasted through close to 300 rounds without a cleaning ... and she still went BAM. No FTF's, FTE's, FTL's.
Because you may have experienced one firearm in your lifetime that didn't live up to your expectations, doesn't mean the whole company produces bad 9mm firearms. Pretty sure Beretta isn't the oldest manufacturer of firearms by putting out the trash every year. Smilie

Thanks for your sympathy, it just ain't that easy.
You can't automatically say that because your Beretta has been a good shooter that an entirely different model will be as well. The Nano is over an inch shorter length and almost an inch shorter in height.

I never once said the Nano wouldn't choke on ammo because I don't own one (actually have the Ruger LC9). I took offense to a post that one person may have had a bad experience with one firearm, which in turn doesn't mean the whole lot is (no pun) shot. Until there is a bigger consensus than just one then share your experience but don't bash / hate. This person didn't mention whether they even owned the Nano.
If I have a problem with something I own that I see come up here on SD, I just relate my experience with the product and usually add "just my experience, yours may be different)

BTW - I also own the Neos which is a sweet little (cheap to buy and run) paper puncher / plinker. She has taken everything I've put down her and only chokes when she starts to get dirty at about 400 rounds plus / minus. But that's the caveat of .22lr ...lots of residue no matter what you fire.

Can be very picky with ammo. Feed it 124 gr or higher for the first 500 or so rounds. I think even Beretta recommends the 124 or higher with it since it is a 9mm built on a 40 cal frame. It is not a bad gun but have had a few FTE.
Same experience. Only have seen FTE with less than 124gr, but as a general rule all of the 9mm in this size experience this.

Change your tampon and pop a Midol I believe he was referring to the state of California being liberal leaning. Regardless of what he implied he wasn't calling you a liberal.

Its annoying that he commented then you replied and now I am replying. Can we just keep these post MORE focused on the product and the deal and less about stupid liberals.

6 round mag.
all least it's 50 state compliant!
Ya thats sweet, but these come with extended mags too dont they... I would hate to have one firearm with only 6 rds.. i see someone posted they have a 8 rd mag... is that the max? I love my glock with the 15 rd mag... this one seems more compact and prob lighter, so having a long mag I assume defeats the purpose of a compact, but its nice to know there are options.

i see alot of these gun threads on SD. i have a question why are these small handguns always so expensive in America, theyre like 400-600 bucks for a handgun not even a rifle which cost over 1000 bucks. this country is the worlds top producer and exporter of small arms so WHY are they so expensive???? this country has produced guns for over 200 years with many innovations, lower costs and larger output due to economies of scale, etc but why are they still expensive? a handgun should cost about $100 and a rifle should be $500, yet this isnt the case. handguns and rifles are CHEAPER in almost all other countries. so why the hell are they so expensive here? is there some federal goverment tax or tariff that keeps the guns prices ARTIFICALLY high?????? does the goverment prohibit mass production of these guns beyond a certain quota to keep supply LOW while demand is high in America????? anyone know? thanks
As others have said, I dont think a majority of good firearms are produced in America like in the 1800's. Not only that, could you imagine the state of violence etc if guns were $100? I have no proof to support that, but I would say a gun's being $500 or $100, that may make the difference between an impulse/emotional buy and a calculated one for a lot of people, who shouldnt own a gun if u know what I mean. I for one, do not mind that deadly firearms are just a bit out of reach of buying it like a spare consumer hard drive off the shelf.

Not in stupid California. If it's not on the DOJ list, it's not compliant. If my job didn't pay so well (even with the high taxes), I'd be out of this state.

Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale [ca.gov]

Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement.

The grip was way to short on the nano, went with the Ruger LC9 instead which has the pinky extension on the 7+1 mag and the guns are comparable size for ccw

370 shipped. The website seems sketchy, but I've ordered from them before and had no problems.

Got mine today and was pleasantly surprised to see it shipped with one standard 6 round mag and one 8 round extended. I didn't see that in the description anywhere. Kudos Beretta.
