I don't know about the quality of that particular brand of line but I'm guessing that you may be holding the trimmer too close to the ground or curb which is causing the line to wear prematurely. That is about the thickest line you can use and should be plenty thick for normal use. I just use the line from HD in my trimmer (same diameter) and don't have any problems. I usually only have to extend the line once or twice for my entire yard. Try adjusting the handle so it is more comfortable and so you are holding it away from the ground more and ease it down into where you want to cut. Let the end of the line do the cutting.
