Pretty much. Some of the corrosive Russian ammo is from WWII days. If you are lucky to find it, you can get those sealed cans with ammo and keep it for a very long time.

One of the problems with inventory everywhere right now is that there are alot of people and businesses buying everything they can get their hands on and putting it on the auction sites to make money off idiots willing to do stuff like spend $125 for a $25 magazine or $0.50-$0.60 per round for FMJ 9mm.

He may not be totally responsible but I think it's safe to say that prices would drop immediately if he were to come out and suggest that he is scrapping all pushes for more gun regulations. The push by Dems to limit gun distribution is by far the single biggest component of the price hikes. The hoarding and everything else is a direct result of those proposed policies.

I love the illogical jealousy that is rampant on Slickdeals, and elsewhere. Every store exists to make money and their job is to buy from the lowest priced distributor, or get the lowest price directly and sell at a decent profit. Now, you take a motivated individual that does the same thing, and somehow they are horrible people.

The bottom line is people don't like resellers because they ruin deals for them, and are frankly better at it. Saying it isn't a job, when I'm sure there are plenty of people that support themselves doing it, just makes the person look like a moron that states that. You can either spend more energy at deals and get them, or you can whine and complain about sellers or greedy people like myself ruining it.

Personally, I have a very, very good job, but I like money, and am motivated to get off my ass on my own time and make more of it when the opportunity presents itself. It only takes a fraction of time away from family, and allows us to enjoy even more vacations and splurging.

Lazy people whine, successful people buy low and sell high to lazy people.

Having said that, the current state of ammo availability is far from a catastrophic situation in this country, and I wish we could stop treating it as such. It's going to end, probably not that far into the future, and when it does, anyone holding onto a huge stockpile of ammo acquired at vastly inflated prices is going to looks pretty silly.

Thanks for saying it. I've been getting much hate from people who seem to think that I am buying "their" ammo. But they are too lazy to pick up the phone to see if a vendor has it in stock. I bought 5,000 of good brand name (some with premium bullets) .223 at $0.39/round last week. That price is almost unheard of these days. All I got was hate from people as if I was the reason they can't find any ammo. Well, the place I got it from had 400 cases of 1,000 so I'm sure had these haters had the tiniest bit of initiative they could have hustled themselves all the ammo they wanted. What I did was barely even worth mentioning, guys at the gunshow were trying to sell 14,000 rounds they'd just bought.

And the people buying my ammo are happily paying $0.70/round. When you CAN'T get something, the value is whatever someone will pay for it. You gotta be early and fast.

Companies/stores (a.k.a employers of people) pay federal taxes.
People with jobs pay federal taxes.

Losers with no jobs, stalking Walmart and taking ALL of the ammo and helping cause this mess, do not pay federal taxes. That was my answer to "are resellers not doing a job?"

I went to my LGS this weekend and the owner was pissed. He told me a story that just happened to him 10 minutes prior.
LGS owner got 50 boxes (20 count) of .223 in and was decent enough to mark them at $9.99 a box. Guy comes in and says "hell yeah I'm gonna buy all these and make a TON off em, gimme em all." LGS owner says "come on man, leave at least a few boxes for the guys just wanting to shoot." Douchebag throws a hissy fit and talks about his rights as a consumer, this is a store, blah blah blah. The LGS was RIGHT. Don't be a dickbag and contribute to the craze of this fiasco we are all enduring. It's flat out bullshit.
