Does anyone know why the sales tax is assessed on the $799 price instead of the after-discount price of $699? In NJ, that results in an additional $7 ($100 difference * 7% NJ sales tax rate).

It just seems wrong to sell an item for $699 but charge tax on a different, higher amount. The transaction is for an item priced at $699, not $799. Shouldn't the tax be assessed on the actual transaction amount?

I'm wondering if Costco is making a mistake here or is intentionally trying to be overly conservative with the amount of sales taxes they collect. I believe Costco may be able to keep any additional sales tax amount that doesn't need to remitted to the states.

I'm seeing WILDLY conflicting reports on the framerate for this TV. Basically, 48Hz, 60Hz, 480Hz, and 600Hz. The typical framerate for a plasma TV is 600Hz, but the Manufacturer website says 48Hz... which I didn't think was even possible for a new TV.

Can anyone that has purchased this TV speak to the actual framerate? I don't want to buy something at 120Hz or less since it makes human movement look like claymation.

It's crazy that the 50 inch is the same price at Best Buy. Wish they'd just drop the price of the 50 inch already.

Not particularly. It would be our main tv in the family room, which has two windows about 20 feet to the right of the tv. I'm in Costco now - definitely a nice tv. Wish it had rca output for audio out - it only has digital. Guess I'm behind the times on that one

I have been following this TV since it came on sale @ Costco. I found it gr8 for the price but the glare portion always kept me away. I visited 3 different Costco where the TV is placed under different settings/lights, but everywhere I couldn't got rid of the glare. It seems like a mirror.

My impression is that this TV for price is gr8 for Man caves only. Let us hear reviews from any recent buyers. I still have 3 more days to decide.

How does this TV compare in picture quality to Panasonic VIERA TC-L55E50 55in IPS LED which was on sale at Pauls TV recently for $799.

Wouldn't be wise to get a Panasonic LED just for $50 more ? Experts please help..

The 60" U50 for $750 shipped is the better deal. I bought the 55 2 days ago from costco, but now i am returning it for the 60" the made FP yesterday

I think that just depends on ones requirements. For someone who needs 3D capability (may add SMART also, but I don't give much weight to it), the costco is a better deal. Add to it the fact that you get an extra year of free warranty + no hassle returns in case of unit problems ! Shipping the TV could cost around $200 !!!

I would have picked the 60" no-3D and Dumb TV had it been through costco though !
