Thinking about getting one for the Nikon, I have one for Canon already.

FYI, Buydig/Beach Camera has a harsher return policy than B&H & other reputable outfits. See http://www.buydig.com/shop/usertp...licies.htm
You will have to pick up the return shipping cost, even if the lens is defective, per the policy, YMMV, since I do not have first-hand experience. FWIW, I tested the copy I received from B&H extensively and my Nikon 35mm f1.8G came out on top in term of sharpness (center & border). AF is not the issue, since I used CDAF to be 100% sure, with MUP & timer delay & wired trigger, with weight on top of body & on tripod. Sigma is cooler color-wise. So hopefully it gives you an idea how good the Nikon 35mm f1.8G is. |

DC (DC Lens) These are special lenses designed so that the image circle matches the smaller size of the image sensor of most digital SLR cameras. Their specialized design gives these lenses the ideal properties for digital cameras, the compact and lightweight construction is an added bonus! including compact and lightweight construction. |

FYI...I ordered this lens for my Canon 60D during the last Adorama offer ($289). It was backordered but only for a few days. Arrived this weekend and I played around with it some. It takes very nice shots and I think is a more versatile walk-around lens on the 60D than the Canon nifty-fifty, which I also have. As mentioned above, on a crop sensor camera the Canon 50mm is like a small zoom, and it makes it a little cumbersome to use indoors at parties and such.

No brainer for Canon. Per Thom Hogan, not so good compared to Nikon 35mm 1.8:

I would be on this except for the crooks.
Ebay screwed me out of 60 buck five years ago and I haven’t given them a nickel since. I have this in the 50mm flavor, the pictures are crisp, At 1.4 you can blear the front or back ground like the big kids. |

I don't know if I got a bad copy, but I'm not crazy about the quality of the bokeh. When I make a shot go out of focus... the bokeh "smears" slightly to one side instead of blurring straight out. It makes it look like I took a brush in Photoshop and smudged the background. When comparing with my canon 50mm 1.4, the canon was sharper and had a much nicer bokeh. But I do like the wider shot I get with my crop sensor... so I'm happy for the price I got it for.
