Got it last time from Fry's for 699 shipped and LOVE it.

I remember reading on avsforums that a plasma with 3d capabilities offers a better picture in 2d format so UT50 > U50.

I agree. I was in the same boat. I bought both, the P60U50 and the P55UT50 for $699 each (one from Fry's and the other from Sears). I kept the P60U50 and have no regrets. Same screens on both. Save the $50 and buy a Roku or a Bluray Player if you want the Smart TV features.

For comparison, a 60" TV vs a 55" TV
A 60" TV offers 19% more viewing size. So you have to ask yourself, are you willing to pay an extra $50 for 19% more in return?

Actually, I think it's better.
I had to get a truck and sign a waiver to bring it home myself.
I was pretty nervous. Never know what might happen on the drive home.

I called buydig earlier and they said they don't offer white glove delivery for items purchased through their ebay store, only through their website, where the tv is not being offered for $750.

Snagged one! Been regretting missing the Fry's deal for days. I basically don't get extended warrantees. But like to hear thoughts on one for this. I see Smart Care and Square Trade out there. How good are these and how soon would I need to sign up?

Snag a squaretrade warranty.
I bought a $500 - $699 Squartrade warranty since I paid $699 at Fry's
Fry's offered a 4 yr warranty for $250
Squaretrade has their 4 yr warranty for $99 and they have coupons too. They took 35% off so I only paid $65! Saved 75% over Fry's

You have 30 days from the date of purchase for both Fry's and Squaretrade.

Both warranties have the manufacture come out and fix the TV in the 1st year if needed. After that, their warranties kick in.

I've read about Panasonics "red light of death" issue (google it) and I highly suggest picking up an extended warranty for peace of mind.
