How do you get into the service menu for this set? I read you press and hold down volume, and press info button 3 times, but this doesn't work for me.

But does recent plasma TV has burn-in (image persistence) problem??

I want to use it for my restaurant menu and worry that it might cause problem with burn-in??

It's not just the 3D and Smart. There is extra video processing for motion smoothness. I convinced my folks to go w/ the 60u50 and a friend to get the 50ut50. The UT50 has options of motion smoothness, very similar to the soap opera effect you see with "120/240hz LED panels". If that's not make or break for you, along w/ 3d and apps, I'd go for the 60u50...we replaced a pioneer pdp-5080 kuro with it, and while I was skeptical of the picture quality even rivaling it, it blew the old Pioneer out of the water. I'm thinking about the 55UT50 from Costco myself.

Spend a couple hundred more and get a 64 or 65 inch, I think it is about 33% larger, well worth it.

As compared to a 60" 16:9 set:

64"- 14% more screen area.

65"- 17% more screen area.

So, if by "a couple hundred more" you mean "two hundred more", you pay 27% more for 14-17% more screen area.

Please make sure you press the volume down on the TV and info on the remote.

yes it will for a menu... plasma's arent great for a static image

Supposedly if you run the burn in calibration for a few days, those problems are mostly gone.

HOWEVER, that being said, I wouldn't use plasma for your restaurant menu, I'd use LCD/LED instead.
