Probably safest to assume the battery was abused and that you will have to replace it. Battery alone will cost about $60 if you replace it yourself (youtube videos available). Also, remember batteries have a shelf life, even if not used they degrade, so if you buy a "new" battery, it may have sat on the shelf for 2 years and not perform nearly as well as a new battery. Add in that some replacement batteries lack the quality of the original ASUS battery, and you must ask if this deal is good enough to accept these risks.
