Approved instantly, UPS shipping, CK 767 (but a very short credit history).

I have been using the same 1% cash back card for a few years, and had been thinking recently about how to leverage my regular spending a bit more, and this is a great, easy way to kick start that. Need to buy an airline ticket this week anyway, and that alone will put me half way to the minimum spend instantly (plus the 3x multiplier on airline tickets is a great way to start out too).

I guess it just depends on perspective. My dad used the same card for everything for 30+ years, so yeah, my few years since college seems short in comparison. You're probably right though, it's not "very short" anymore.

Yes, they work just like any other card on AP. I've done it myself with my Plat card.

I only need that 50k points and will cancel it asap since I am a platinum card user.

If I were you- I would keep the card for at least 6 months especially as the annual fee for the first year is waived. Its generally not good to cancel a card with Amex right after you get bonus
