All the time I hear complains that stuff builds up in the chamber... But is it a really big deal and a long and laborious process to unscrew the brush, clean the chamber and put it back? |

I am a long time owner of this exact toothbrush and I too heard, and continue to hear, about the design flaw that allows fluids to accumulate underneath the brush head.
However, my 3 year experience with at least 4 of these units, 3 for myself and my two children (for some reason, wife does not like electric, prefers manual brushes) and one for an older child outside the home, I've never, not once, not ever, noticed any fluid underneath the brush head (inside the main body). I really do not know what people are going on about this as if it is some major problem. If the problem/flaw is so major, you would have thought I would notice at least something, some dampness or something?!? All my brush bodies are bone dry, not one single sign of any moisture at all. This is a great toothbrush and those considering it should not be overly concerned about this supposed 'flaw'. Luck all... |

For those of you who are new to electric toothbrushes and buying this, you will be happy. The difference between a regular toothbrush and an electric is like night and day. It feels like you just left a dentist office when you use an electric toothbrush...a definite must have item.

You can clean the nooks and crannies of the Sonicare brush and brush head using a spray bottle with diluted bleach. Spray, wait 30 sec, and rinse. It's very little effort and sanitizes really quickly. Alternatively, you can use old Sonicare brush heads for cleaning the insides of Sonicare brush heads for the really stuck-on gunk.

Either way, doesn't seem to harm anything, just looks gross. Hopefully I don't end up the next Brittany Murphy. |
