[Target] Philips 26" LED TV Wifi 26PFL4907 for $89.95 YMMV

HDTVs that are 27" or less and have 1080p resolution are typically lower quality TN panels used in most computer monitors. I'm not sure what kind of panel this one uses, just sayin, it's something to take special note of in your research if you want good off-angle viewing.

I need a TV just like this for my kitchen, keeping fingers crossed to duplicate the deal at my local target.

Yeah rang up $199 at my location. But actually it's very close to the store the OP went to so I tried to use his receipt to get a price match, but no go even though they confirmed it's $89 there.

Is it worth it to try and buy the TV at $199 then take it to OPs store to do a return/rebuy?

Doesn't "Limited Availability" vs "In Stock" usually means better chances of getting it for the lower price?

Ahh these Target "YMMV" deals always get me, my target never has anything on clearance. I'm trying to find out the actual resolution of this tv, if its 1080 might use it as a monitor

720p is not an issue. Why does everyone jump on this. Heck I have a 51 inch 720p and I have to be three foot from the screen to see the fact that it isn't 1080P. On a screen this small you are nuts to even concern yourself with 1080 vs 720. If you find this thing buy it.

Checked at 8am this morning in NOrth Haven, CT, and they had a few in stock at 199, which was a sale price form 299. i told the guy that someone got it for the 89 at the orange store (no need to tell him it wasnt orange). He said that it was an insane deal, and if that actually happened, he would buy them all. LOL. No go. MIght check another one on my way home.

Anybody actually try this TV as a monitor? I bought a Philips/Magnavox 26" HDTV awhile back when they had a clearance on their website and the TV's EDID information was completely wrong - kept reporting 1920x1080 but the panel only supported 1360x768 - it would display but was really bad looking. Could not for the life of me get an Nvidia card to behave properly at 1360x768 - just looked horrible. The refresh rate was weird too. Ended up getting an ATI Radeon card and it had better options for setting custom resolutions/refresh (only worked at 59hz or something otherwise severe quality issues). For that reason alone I promised myself to never buy another Philips TV.

This was for a 26" LCD with a built in DVD player. That unit was several years old too.. and wouldn't work well with a PS3.
