went first to my local store - they had one on display- Awful looking ticker and ghosting on CNN moving scenes look OK - still for the price I figure go online and see if any other stores had it - Tried almost all FL stores in a 250 mile radius - varies from 199 to 226.99 a no go.

If you want to do ANYTHING, even once a week, or once a month with a 1080p signal, I strongly suggest to anyone they get a 1080p TV. The cost difference is not big enough to forego that. The MOMENT I decided to use a 1080p signal from any source, I never wanted 720p again. My two main LCD TV's are a Vizio and a TCL -- I don't buy into branding hype...TV's are what they are. Some people can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi...some people can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p images. If it's 1080p, it looks better on 1080p vs. 720p within a specific distance, ceteris paribus. I don't need the following to know this -- but here it is. http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/ Last edited by thumper300zx; 02-21-2013 at 10:41 AM.. |

Companies like Samsung and Philips purposely cripple small displays like this one, because they want you to do just that...buy an overpriced $200 flat panel while they sell the same sized screen w/crippled electronics that make the panel unusuable/unreadable as a computer display. |

Went to my local target and scored one... none on the display but the box was sitting on the shelf below the TV's. Sticker had it at 30% off but rang up at $89.98! Pretty sure i got the last one (Germantown MD)

Target store in Arizona showed "limited stock" on the inventory checker. I went there anyway this morning, they had one on the shelf, not marked clearance in any way. Scanned at $89.95, bought it. 5% red card discount nearly covered tax. Tough to beat for a mid-level name brand 26" LED TV. Also, they also offered me a 2-year extended warranty for $7, but they were not sure it applied to TV's.

I never said 1080p didn't matter. I said it didn't matter given your original suggestion that your 26" TV looked worse with your Hopper system because it was 720p. You don't have to look any further than the fantastic chart that I am well aware of to see that the benefits to 1080p on a 26" TV are lost if you're sitting further than 2.5 feet waway. My apologies if you watch TV like this: |
