Got this on the last deal and hate it.. Much better mechanical pencils out there. The turning mechanism is shoddy at best.
Who needs Black Friday when you have SlickDeals everyday?

The Kuru Toga is okay but it's not a drafting pencil. As far as sentence writing goes, it's probably a reasonable budget sidekick to the 1000 Pro. Many might even prefer it. Any kind of technical work, no. Quality is okay. Not as good as the 1000 or even the Graphgear 500, but it's not a bad pencil. Love it or hate it kind of thing. Susceptible to pocket damage if that's a concern. Of course so is the 1000 Pro |

agreed it's been the same price for roughly 90% of the past 6 months.

I'm not sure how well the 'rotate to sharp point' feature works, but it seems to be more consistent than any other .5 mm I have. I use it mainly for calc 2 and physics problems, where subscripts are regularly occurring! |

Just got one yesterday from Staples for $5.99 because I need a five bucks thing to get over $75 to use coupon. Nice pencil. Now I don't want to use computer at all, all I want is write.

The problem with this pencil is that slight give every time you touch the lead to the paper. It's the slight vertical movement in the mechanism that allows the lead to rotate, but bothers me. It feels like the lead tip is disconnected from the pencil and has a "floaty" feel. Not really a problem when you're writing letters or sentences, but annoying when drawing molecules or drafting. Still a great pencil for writing, but I hardly use it anymore. |

I think the diamond stuff is just marketing speak. I can't tell any difference really. Same thing I use, B Super/Ain. In some pencils I use 2B, but it does break a bit more. I don't generally write very hard though, so it's not too bad. |
