fyi this is a normal nimh rechargable, it is not the low discharge sanyo type recharagble

is this a good deal ? I have always been whatever / hesitant about rechargeable batteries due to my past experiences with them. Is this worth the buy? I haven't bought rechargeable in YEARSSSSSS

Wrong! This is relevant depending on your usage profile. If you use your batteries to a total discharge in a short period of time (like in some toys), then LSD is not critical (in fact, non-LSD batteries tend to have higher charge capacity).

OTOH, if you use your batteries for short period over a long time between charges, like in remote controls, cameras or camera external flash units, etc., then LSD becomes far more economical, as they retain their charge when not in use for a very long time. This way you have your photo equipment always ready for action.

See my above comment. I don't know what bad experience you have with rechargeables, but I stopped buying regular batteries years ago. I do, however, buy only eneloops (or rebranded eneloops, like the white head-ring Duracells). Along with a smart charger (the Lacross is currently a Front-Page deal) they keep performing perfectly in toys and photo gear and other electronics. Based on my experience, I would not recommend any other battery.

Agreed, put out a little extra cash in the front end, keep a lot in your pocket on the back end. Rechargable batteries are definately one of those items in that there is a HUGE difference in quality between low end and high end gear. I use LiPo rechargables at work in my flashlights every night and have been using the same AW cells and Pilla charger for almost 4 years with no noticable degradation in quality. I also have a LaCrosse charger and some Sanyo batteries for my AA and AAA needs. All have functioned flawlessly.

However.... If you need some cheap rechargable batteries and a charger, $10 is hard to beat. I'd probably hop on this deal if i wasn't already swimming in batteries. Westinghouse is a good brand IMO.

I have envelope away. Nothing wrong with having more diff kinds of rechargeable batteries around, with such cheap price especially.

Better than Eneloop? Hahahaha!!! If they're 75% as good as the Eneloops, then they should consider themselves lucky.

Edit: make that 50%. That's how good Eneloop batteries are. No batteries I've ever used have come close to being as good.
