That said, buying ME3 on PS3 instead isn't the solution. You may be right with that. From what I've heard about the PS4, we're gonna have a DRM fest, and it will be pretty much like the PC. In all honesty, I probably will not buy ME3 for some time; I haven't even played the first two in the franchise. I have the first two on steam I think. By that time I will just buy a used copy to play the single player story. This will indeed cut into their profits. I do not wish to miss one of the best games out there if I can help it without compromising myself - and feel that my way work well.

And I believe it will help whereas they will see that Origin isn't doing as well as they hope, and perhaps realizing they will get a lot more sales on the PC without it.

it's all hate on the ending. Bioware released an extended cut to help clarify things which helped. I do think the ending could and should have been better, but overall the game was great. I played ME1 on PC and 2+3 on Xbox. ME2 is probably my favorite but I highly recommend playing them all. The story and characters are simply awesome.

As others have said about Origin, it really isn't that bad... I'm not a big fan of EA but they publish some great games. And even Steam sucked when it first came out. There are many things that could be better but overall it's fine... I don't see why people say it's invasive and all that nonsense... it runs fine for me.

FYI, I took the liberty of sorting the OP alphabetically by developer... groups the DLC and sequels together, mostly. Particularly less of a headache to read teh Paradox and Square Enix sections, IMO. xanchui, if you want to copy this sorting to the OP, let me know and I can edit down this long post.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it already in the thread, but the code works with the digital download of Crysis 3 too.

Beyond Good and Evil for $3? That's a great price for a gem of a game. It's not the best port, but it still looks great, and the game is worth it.

I fear that's where things are going. It's already partially like that on consoles. If PlayStation Network is down for maintenance, I can't access Hulu Plus. And of course you can't access PSN without having the latest console update, and thus accepting whatever ToC they chose to give you. Since watching Hulu Plus / Netflix requires Xbox Live, I'm sure it's the same way on Xbox.

Console exclusives are already annoying, but I think we're going to start seeing more store exclusives. And I don't mean something like ME3 or Civ 5 which requires Origin or Steam - I mean games that you can only buy through Origin or PSN or Xbox Live, thus cutting out the middleman entirely.

Like someone else said, they're probably from people who hated the ending. Since then, they've released an Extended Cut of the ending, which I think fills it out nicely.

I recently replayed the entire series with all the DLC (story DLC not the extra weapons or whatever). and I'd say 3 is the best. It has the best combination of story and gameplay in my opinion. Do you need all the extra DLC? Not really, but they do add to the ME universe, some more so than others. Lair of the Shadow Broker (ME2) is pretty meaty, and both From Ashes and Leviathan (ME3), are fairly important as far as background goes. Yes, you could just youtube all the important parts, but that takes you out of the world and you'd probably lose part of the experience. But if you don't want to buy all it it's a decent alternative. I will say that playing the games with all the DLC already installed made the less interesting ones that much more palatable. I had played Omega (ME3) as a stand-alone and I wasn't impressed at all, but when I played it within my playthrough, in context, it was a much more enjoyable experience.

As for Origin, like many others here, I initially balked at the idea when it was forced on us with BF3. Since then, it's gone through a few changes, and honestly, it's fine now. I use both Origin and Steam and they're pretty much the same as far as I'm concerned.
