Code is Dead. Amazon cancelled these orders by mistake and have since issued apologies and credits to those affected. Some people report not getting these emails and should probably call Amazon to get the order reinstated with $20-$25 credit ($15 for coupon, $5 additional for those who ordered in time when the $5 credit was still active and another $5 that Amazon has been offering users affected by this cancellation wave)
WARNING: This game requires you are connected to the internet via a high-speed connection.
Make sure to pick "digital download" as it's the DVD by default, which does not qualify.
Deal still alive as of Feb 25th @ 12pm EST

worked for me. Would rather have digital download vs the other preorder deal ( same price ) . Hate keeping boxes/discs around.

What is the $5 credit for? Just other digital downloads on Amazon? All Amazon products? Does it expire? I don't see any details on the site.

You're right, it doesn't exactly say what the $5 is for. But if you look at the $20 credit you get for the physical copy, it says: "Get a $20 credit and the Limited Edition Pre-order SimCity and receive a $20 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including but not limited to Kindle books, gift cards, and Amazon Appstore for Android Apps). Pre-orders also get the Limited Edition Heroes & Villains content including new characters, crime waves, a Super Hero HQ and an Evil Villain Lair. Gotta love CAG. Canceled my physical copy pre-order and got this one instead. Don't want to worry about getting the delivery on time and then keeping the box around for ages.
In addition, paying less up front (and even less tax) makes it an even better deal. |
