Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!

Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can’t get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly…bottle necked by Bolt carrier’s.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity…can’t get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS… ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra’s for reloading purposes…

It could be 6-9 months before things get caught up - and when they do there is zero expectations that the prices will be pre-Nov 2012 prices - i think that the prices we are seeing now are going to be the new norm - there is no reason to expect ammo manufacturers and dealers to drop prices when they now know what we are willing to pay for it ..

Yep, the are notorious for postponing shipping. I have an order from GaG and still processing after a week. Not a major order either.

My estimate is more along the 12 - 24 months time frame (and that's being optimistic) for the availability to return to pre-SH, I have no idea what prices will be like then. Guns and magazines I don't' worry so much about as I do with ammo. There's already an enormous amount of arms out there in the US market for me not to worry but it doesn't matter how many guns or magazines you have, they're utterly useless without ammo. Ammo being a consumable makes it that much worst and the trend isn't looking good. The manufacturers aren't the ones you have to worry about, it's the dealers, distributors, and stores. They're the ones that will be pushing to keep prices higher.

The only reason I even have 3 mags for my MP22 is for the extremely unlikely even it becomes my only gun or necessary to use as a backup/secondary. I'm not counting on it but one can never be sure.

I haven't done this myself as I've been looking for an extra mag or 2 for awhile now. Here is a youtube video showing that can remove what is essentially a spacer to convert a 10 rounder mag into a 12.

thanks for the replys guys, I think i'm going to wait till i can get them for around 20 cause i personally don't need them right now. Confused at the thumbs down, not a horrible deal (great compared to prices at these times). I almost always thumbs up gun deals just cause SD seems to shun them!

I don't completely understand the thumbs down either. I mean, it's true that it wasn't a "slick deal" since they were essentially priced at MSRP, but anyone that has been looking for them know they have been hard to find for awhile.

If you're willing to wait, you can always sign up to be notified at midway ($27), brownells ($27), or some of the other places when they get more in stock.

Just got an email from GrabAGun, that they had an error in inventory and that my ordered has been canceled. Boo.

And just got a similar email from CheaperThanDirt. Double boo.
