Yeah, a Raid 1 of these would mean that I would literally have to lose 4 drives total to lose important drives. The Raid 5 would have to lose two drives and both 4TB would have to fail. I guess a horrible power surge could do it, but that's a chance everyone takes.

In for 1, thanks. Hmm, I'm thinking of just pulling off the bottom of the drive with the modular USB3 interface, attaching my SATA data and power cables to the drive and zip-tieing the case inside my computer. Warrantee preserved. I've just got to make sure that the drive is given enough breathing room for cooling.

Thanks for the heads up. Mostly because I expected them to be 7200rpm and was planning on throwing them in my raid array. Saved me a headache. |
