not a bad gun, PITA to clean....but mines gone 1000+ rounds of crap ammo and only one FTD

I have an LC9 works well. My dad had the Ruger LCP, Which is the .380 model. The LC9 is a tad bigger and feels better to me.

I'v been looking for the S&W as well. Other choices were the Taurus TCP and the Ruger LCP. Just need something smaller for when I can't carry my USP. |

leaning towards the m&p shield chamber in 9mm at this point. not sure if i even want a compact, b/c I've never had the chance to carry on a daily basis legally. I'm hoping Illinois gets concealed carry soon. It might go through but who knows. |

You might consider the Glock 27 in .40 caliber.
A friend just picked one up; said it was far better than the Springfield XDs in .45. .380s and .22s are nice and small... but I do like a .45. You asked for recommendations; there's mine.
