I need to see some reviews on the speed of this thing for remote access before i say if its good or not. But im not sure if the $40 premium is worth it cause you get a 500 gig drive? Can you even ebay a 500 gig drive and get $40 for one? This item is currently out of stock but amazon has it for $199.99

Seagate just launched this new NAS a few days ago, gonna buy one to try it. decent price on NAS.

I go with either Qnap and Synology for NAS.

Definitely need to see a test first. NAS is all about execution.
More of an unRaid guy myself, but most clients need stupid simple with reasonable performance at better than Synology prices. |

Does this have a USB port to plug in an extra hard drive to it? That is, can I just buy this and just use the free hard drive for now and worry about buying the internal disks later?

I facebook'ed Seagate to get the internal specs on this guy. They say she is running a 512mb RAM, Dual Core 700Mhz Arm Processor. Considering the price, new features such as USM slot, free 500 gift USM enabled portable device, decent GUI from seagate, this may be a good deal.
