grabbed one earlier today from staples after buying the g580 from OD. luckily, i decided to stop by staples to see what they had left and saw the z580. OD had it for 20 less and still took the coupon so got one for $438.40 after taxes. not to bad, ended up spending $70 but got i5, 250gig hd increase, 4gigs more ram.

The only comparable one I see at OD has 500GB and 6GB ($480), vs the one at staples which has 750GB and 8GB ($500). Not exactly apples and oranges, but more like granny-smiths and fujis.

It is a rule to not ask or trade for reps. Better to have something subtle in your sig than posted with the deal. That said, 'reps appreciated' or some such really shouldn't bother people.

I try to be good about repping people. I'll rep if I buy or often if a really good deal that I was very tempted to buy. If someone gives relevant info to the deal that helps me or just a particular witty comment. I tend to be surprised when I get repped, happens infrequently enough.

I'm disappointed that this is now online .. though, good for those who didn't pull the trigger yet. I had to rush out last night (since coupon expired on the 21st) to make my purchase. I tried to make the purchase online yesterday and the coupon wouldn't take. I would have used 5% discover cashback to make it even sweeter.
I rather pay the extra $160 +tax on this than the i3 deal at office depot that everyone is buying.
the extra cost is worth the beefier processor, double the ram and 50% more storage .. not to mention the bluetooth compatibility, although I'm not sure if it actually comes with a bluetooth antenna or just a place for one.

I looked it up through ShopDiscover and it looks like tech is not included in 5% CB

I picked one up. I learned buying my cheap Toshiba (which I am going to try to get the extended CC warranty honored for), not to go bargain basement. So far it is great. Sound is such an upgrade. Touchpad takes a little work, but update the drivers on Lenovo's site if you are having issues.

i agree it's still apples to apples, but $20 off is $20 off. that's lunch money right there =)

too bad this laptop does not have room for a SSD otherwise i would get it, great for practical use but not for those who are big gamers.
