Vitamix has been selling reconditioned machines for a while, but they just made some new models available. I think these are a great deal, as they come with the standard strong Vitamix warranty, just 5 years instead of 7. If the warranty is an issue for you, you can extend the warranty to 8 years for $75, which is less than the savings. Reconditioned units are tested and repaired if necessary, and come with new containers and tampers.

The 7500 (aka Pro 300) is the new model that they released last year with the shorter/wider pitcher, longer blades, and more powerful/quieter motor. Sells for $529 new.

The 6300 (aka Pro 500) has been around a bit longer and is the same as the older machines except it has preset modes. Vitamix is selling it for $649 new, although Costco sometimes has it for $500.

If you have an old Vitamix, they'll give you $100 for it with their trade in program:

Honest question here. What makes these mixers worth $400+ that a $50 Kitchenaid blender can't solve for 99% of people? I'm just kind of curious what someone would use these for?
They used to always be pretty indestructible. I had an all stainless one in the '80's that I could grind up whole salmon frames, heads and all, into cat food like I was making pudding - barely put on a sweat. Best thing was the slushes and smoothies that it could make from whole fruits and veg - both in time and in texture. The grinding grain into flour was overrated though. Mine finally bit the dust and caught on fire after around 10 years of weekly use.

It caught on fire??? I've never heard of that happening! I guess I knew that those older models would spark under normal operation, but actually catching fire is a whole other level.

Well it had been smoking for about a month before there were actual flames. Previously I would turn it off and let it cool off when I the smoke started. The final day I got distracted and finally pushed it over the limit. All in all though they are great machines. We use them professionally at the chain I work at along with heavy duty Hamilton Beach machines.

question of the day can you use the newer jar from the 7500 with the 6500?. to rebound and answer my own question no they will not.. the 6300 is on its way out being discontinued and to hold the burning torch for the 7500 model ie pro 300 since that jar / carafe the direction they want to head in. sucks as there is no preset and you have to baby the damn knob which i kinda hate.. whereas the blendtec just press a button and bail. ehh cmon vitamix refurb pro 750 deals!!!

I've been looking for a good deal on Vitamix blenders for a bit and it seems their reconditioned models are the best deals right now with a free shipping code. Their reconditioned models are actually a pretty good value it seems because they come with a 5 yr warranty and can be upgraded to 8 years for $75 and you can save hundreds depending on the model you get for reconditioned over new.

Use code 06-008426 at checkout to get free standard shipping (They charge $25 for shipping so its a decent savings)

The Models

The 7500 (also known as the Pro 300) is the new model that they released last year with the shorter/wider pitcher, longer blades, and more powerful/quieter motor. Sells for $529 new.

The 5200 (Pro 200) is the standard model and has been around for awhile. It is same as the 6300 except it doesn't have preset modes. Sells for about $449 new.

For those of you who arent familiar, Vitamix's are the best blenders out there. My friend has one and in all honesty I find nothing compares to them when it comes to what they can do and how smooth they make smoothies and drinks. This is the blender professional chefs and restaurants use. This thing can heat up soups, make ice cream or sorbert, frozen drinks, smoothies, and green shakes (with raw veggies and fruit) and a ton of other things and are built to last over a decade.

Yeah, that is a great deal as well. I didn't include it in my original post because it's been available for a long time (and has been posted before here).
Thanks OP Ordered 5200 today via the link you provided. Was having trouble checking out today morning and finally was able to do so before few minutes. Vitamix reps were at Costco today and they were selling 6300 for $499 which I thought so was priced a tad high compared to what we get at Costco.

I asked the lady what extra stuff was included with Costco purhcase when compared to what was available online and was informed that online and Costco blenders are virtually the same except they recently added Costco exclusive color which I don't really care about. I believe Costco color was red, but I can see red available online as well.

My decision to buy 5200 was entirely based on the fact that I don't need preset modes for $50 extra when compared to 6300 and $70 extra for 7500 which people have said is not much of an upgrade.
