I think you misunderstood "btcharpied"'s response. It had nothing to do with how good this deal is.

If you haven't seen the movie, "The Ring", a VHS tape is passed around and whoever sees it ends up dead.

Your comment "for family who watch then pass on" is what he/she was responding to. "btcharpied" humorously took "pass on" as "died". "btcharpied" meant jokingly that you're like the people in the movie, "The Ring" who passes a video around and they all end up dead. But instead of a VHS tape, you're passing around Blu-ray discs.

LOL, yeah, your write your data to BD and then it disappears after a while! You're a genius. You know more than anyone but you can every hope to know.

Many reviews on NewEgg and Amazon saying that data may disappear after a few months. I prefer spend a few more cents per disk, and buy more reliable media. Less hassle, less stress, less regret.

MIR kills the deal for me. it is $25. I like the instant rebates not MIR cos they sometimes lie about not receiving the rebate requests and other excuses to deny.

how long has espresso been around?

With the data disappearing maybe they should call them "Mission Impossible" instead of "Memorex". On a serious note I have used other Memorex media, CD-R and DVD+R and find them much less reliable then Verbatim, TDK or Philips.
