Getting the gold card and free drinks is actually pretty easy. My fiance and my sister both have a gold card and have had them for years. One thing to be aware of is to maximize your points is if buying multiple items, have each item rung up seperately. You will still pay the same amount, but at least get credit for each item. For some reason, they refuse to make their system recognize each item as a point. So even if you bought 10 drinks and rang them together, you get 1 point, ring seperately and get 10 points.

I would HOPE you would take into account anybody IN LINE behind you before you try that.

Sure it works but everyone within eyeball of you AND particularly the partner ringing up the order will hate you forever.

I was using 10 as an example. It is usually 2 drinks at most and at off times (not the morning rush). If it is such an issue for the barista then they should either say NO or Starbucks should just change their policy,

I have actually emailed corporate on this policy saying that it isn't fair for the barista or the customer to have to ring each item separately to get credit. Corporate didn't really care.

I just feel that if you are ordering multiple items at $5+ each they should give you credit for each one. I can also imagine some great stories you hear, but you get that working with the public.

I'm not seeing anything referring to the $5 bonus for registering the card (except for the chalkboard outside OP's location). How would they even be able to tell that you got the $5 card from the promo going on now, as opposed to just buying a $5 card?

That's what I want to know. Can we just register any card and get an extra $5? I'm certainly going to try.

I paid $9.95 for a lb of coffee received $5 gift card and girl told me to register the card it on monday and another $5 will be added. Great deal!! This is in NY.

If registering a new card (even requiring a new account for each card) will give you $5 credit... well it will make the AT&T deal pale in comparison. I'm not buying that you'll get $5 for registering ANY card....
