Think I might grab these. Have been on my notification list for awhile. Has anyone had experience with these cans? Seems a fair number of users reporting sound issues with the right channel dying out. Logitech has a 2-year limited warranty on these, and as a company they've been pretty good for RMAs.
According to pricegrabber [pricegrabber.com], this is roughly matching the lowest price it has been in 6 months (about $75). Last edited by sangdargent; 02-22-2013 at 08:56 AM.. |

I got my set off CL for like $55 virtually new and I would happily pay this price for them. Don't expect audiophile quality but they are quite good. I have had channel issues with these and there are reports of the swivel being delicate so be careful. Otherwise great set of cans and very comfortable. I never feel fatigue with these on.

Amazon has it for same price as well: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wi...B003VANOFY

got a set during BF sales and have been using them since. very comfy, nice mic flexibility. here's my biggest gripe with it (and IMO, a BIG miss...hundreds of complaints about this since the product came out and Logitech has never provided a firmware fix and never will) - i tend to like to hang in vent channels, but not always talk. and some times, the vent channel is quiet for a while. this headset will automatically shutoff after 15 mins of no input/output. there's no way to disable this auto-shutoff.

I had them and finally got rid of them. They work pretty well, except for two things: First, they really picked up typing in the background, so while I was on conference calls, people would really hear my type unless I muted -- much more so than my wired Sennheiser PC151 [amazon.com] headset. The Sennheiser is running $45 and, while it is on ear rather than over ear (a plus for some things and a minus for others) is unsurpassed in my experience is quality and reliability. Also, the wireless feature of the Logitechs was a big problem for me because of interference on the 2.4 gHz band from the router, bluetooth, etc. (even leaving aside USB 3). The sound would come and go based on 2.4 gHz EMI.

The wireless element is certainly nice, but at this price you are like $15 away from a serious set of entry-level audiophile headphones that won't break in the first 6 months of use.
In my experience, ALL "gaming" marketed headsets are overpriced piles of junk compared to their non-gamer counterparts. Poor sound quality and build quality. I don't have any firsthand experience with this particular set, but the reviews seem to lump it into the same category of style over substance. For $15 more, you could get a set of Audio Technica ATH AD700s, which are widely known for having pretty much the best soundstage that money can buy as well as twice the general audio quality of these headphones. The wide soundstage means you can precisely pinpoint EXACTLY where your enemies are based on sound alone. Sure, the AD700s aren't wireless (which I understand the appeal of), but they will last MUCH longer, be infinitely more comfortable, and sound way, waaaay better for $15 more. If you are looking to drop $100 on a set of headphones for gaming, you are on the market for a high quality product. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a "gaming" marketed headset that was anything other than an overpriced pile of junk. |

These aren't audiophile, but they're wireless, sounds is pretty great, and build is good. Have a pair I've used for the last 2 years, no real issues to report. Remember to rep if someone is helpful! Click on the colored square by their name in a post.

I actually considered these headphones as a gaming headset because I got sick of my other gaming headsets fraying and losing sound or microphone. I thought, "Hey, if I get a wireless headset, then that will eliminate the fraying issue!" Unfortunately a lot of the reviews for this headset report that one of the earpieces or the microphone will short out over time. If I am dropping a benjamin on a gaming peripheral, I need something that is going to put up with my 3-6 hours of daily gaming abuse for the next 3+ years. I can't comment at all on the audio quality or soundstage of these headphones, I just know that there was absolutely no comparisson to be made between my AD700s and my old gaming headsets (Razer Carcharias, Steelseries Siberia V2, etc). The AD700s absolutely blow them out of the water in every single category--comfort, sound quality, construction, soundstage. When I game on my AD700s, I feel like it's the old days of CS 1.6 with a Soundblaster X-Fi and I can hear every last footstep location around the map. It's freaking sound hacks, I swear. I am admittedly jealous of the wireless aspect, as it would be nice to not to worry about rolling over the cord or accidentally standing up too fast. But the benefits of spending your money on pure headphones as opposed to covering the markup and marketing costs of a "gamer" label are too big to pass up. I know that I, for one, will never buy any peripheral marketed solely toward "gamers" again. Last edited by prankies; 02-22-2013 at 02:23 PM.. |
