If you want to talk about rebates, why not talk about the *reason* that companies do them. I assume it's to sell my information along with the item I'm buying, a profile of sorts, to intertested parties that then use my information however they want.
I'm still a sucker, and will continue to do rebates, but I don't whore myself for cheap. I only go for the expensive ones! Doesn't that somehow make me smarter(er)??? |

Why all the hate for rebates? I have done hundreds and never failed to get ONE, even from difficult places like Xigmatek. If you are diligent about doing them correctly and keeping copies of everything just in case, you should not have a problem. Are they a pain in the Neck sometimes?...sure. But that is why we get all these great FAR deals. What other way are you gonna get something free or even MM ? Not that many! Also, I dont know why people have such a problem with Rebate cards. I find they actually come in handy for the occasional online deal where I don't have to worry about them having real CC info or charging me recurring fees. You can easily get of the last few cents by buying Amazon E-Gift cards....not to mention the dozens of free Redbox rentals I have gotten from rebate cards as well....they are a win-win in my opinion.
We are the normal/ We live and we die/ There's no reason why.

This is a rebadged Lite-On iHBS-112 and can be crossflashed (got in on the BF deal for $55 with a 25 pack of BD-R media). Once crossflashed, it does do bitsetting for DVD+ media. All in all, pretty solid.
See here for crossflash instructions: http://club.myce.com/f61/asus-bw-...er-323370/ |
