Good deal on the game with the best voice acting of this generation. It's a laugh riot. Also you become an unstoppable killing machine by duct taping a million swords together.

Um, worse. The voice actors are the developers. Eventually, I simply read the dialog and skipped over the audio. It became pretty automatic as the game went on.

I thought the crafting system made sense (take the best of two similar items to make a better item), but it's hard to argue with that duct tape remark!

I liked the inventory system. Instead of "X number of slots" it's "you have this much screen space".

I'm guessing they wrote that script too, because it's just as bad as the voice acting. They watch a little Downton Abbey and they think they can write olde english.

From what I read, you hit the nail on the head. They simply didn't have the extra money for real voice actors. Unlike Elder Scrolls Oblivion, who hired about 4 really good voice actors who each voiced about 50 characters!

I eventually liked the hero's voice, not so much because he was great (he was merely competent) but because when I listened to his random dialog and watched the action on the screen, I decided the hero was actually a psychopath (but at least he really cared about his sister).

Now I am intrigued. I may well buy this just for the laughs. Then again, maybe not

LOL I forgot about the taint and the stacking of swords or weapons togeather, I had some stuff that was super powerful, the game could have been bigger than oblivion , they just farked themselves hard by not waiting to release the game til it was done.

I agree with this. Its voice acting to me was unintentionally hilarious and actually made the game much better than if it had good voice acting.

No kidding, when that really old guy gets excited about "the smell of sweet, sticky taint", I could no longer breathe from rampant laughter. And no, its not that I am some little kid who laughs at a word, quite the opposite really. I am almost completely jaded to almost all forms of comedy except the unintentional kind. Thankfully for me, this game delivers it in spades. After playing this game I almost wish there was a whole genre of foreign people writing scripts in english.


I bought it for xbox360 3-4 years ago for 2 bucks. Best 2 dollars i've ever spent on a game. Its not just the comedy. At its core it was a really good game for its time. Not better than oblivion, but its a lot closer than most video game ratings would suggest. The reason the title was panned by critics and players alike (in addition to the poor voice acting) was because of its massive buglist at launch. Performance was *dreadful* at first. By the time I played it on 360, pretty much every bug was fixed that I noticed.

If you can convince yourself to embrace the terrible voice acting, its a rewarding experience. I probably played it longer than I did oblivion (and I put a lot of time into oblivion as well). If you are just the type of person who only plays the newest, shiniest AAA budget game then don't touch it for obvious reasons.

I played this game through completion on the xbox 360. It is not exactly BioWare material in terms of the production values but the game mechanics are decent and for me the game actually grew on me.

I also found Two Worlds 2 to be much worse, or at least much less entertaining.

there are so many quality games in the world and so few time to play them. IMO, if the games not on the level of quality of skyrim or close to it, its not worth playing, even if they paid you.
