What you were seeing before was PowerBoost, which gives you a brief increase in speed but then levels off at your paid max (15mbps). Time Warner Cable does not support PowerBoost on DOCSIS 3.0 modems. See http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r...-perboost-

my last offer I didn't make for amodem at $65 was rejected, so I didn't try again at $67 just now. amodem isn't being sent to me now for the $67 offer I didn't make. thanks for all who contributed the type of useful info on how to save money on stuff we want, despite Mr. SD and his evil minions somehow feeling like they're obligated to keep a deals site from including info relevant to deals. That kind of crap was always annoying whenever I'd run across someone trying like heck to post info on a rebate or cashback site without having their info deleted by the mods here for violating the SD rule that unless a deal results in SD getting clickthrough or referral $$ it can't be posted here. It also reminds me of something I read about facebook - the comment was 'If you're not the customer, you're the product being sold'. Clearly, the users of SD are not SD's customers, we're the product being sold.
Anyhow, considering I've been using the same old motorola surfboard modem I bought when I switched from dial up earthlink service in 1999, and comcast wanted $7 per month rental fee for a new docsys 3 modem (and probably a crap one), this is a good deal.

They must've overnighted the modem because it said it was shipped on 2/26 and this afternoon I received it

My modem I didn't buy from modems-modems on a site that definitely wasn't ebay that I may or may not have paid $65 for just arrived as well, and I'd say whether or not that was also just one day, but it seems risky to say so. Brown box, plugged it in and its working great.

Has anyone tried not bidding on a 24 hour auction to see if they won't come in under the $65 price others aren't getting?

Just picked up the 6121 at Target for $70. Was the last one on the shelf and it was originally priced at $90 then marked down to $80, then finally marked down to $70.

I don't mind paying a little more than those who are getting it on Ebay for ~$60 since I can return mine to the store if there are any issues. Peace of mind is worth the additional $10-15 IMO. Thanks OP!

you should return the 6121 for $70 and get the newer, faster model 6141 for $65 on eBay.
