Ebay links are probably not allowed because ebayers would flood the board promoting their own auctions.

Just a comment .. I bought an SB6141 (admittedly not the model from this thread) .. I've had nothing but trouble.

I upgraded from a DOCSIS 2.0 modem (owned by RoadRunner) which was rock-solid. The DOCSIS 3 modem has been awful, rebooting multiple times a day. Had a tech come out, they replaced all the coax .. same problem. They recommended I swap my modem .. so I ended up buying another SB6141. Same problem.

The end result is .. some areas have poor infrastructure for DOCSIS 3 modems.

I can't tell you to NOT buy a DOCSIS 3 modem, but be ready to have a backup plan, whereby you return your new modem, buy a D2 modem or something.

well now it seems the $65 price is no more, that was my point - I can't pay even a dollar more to the same seller for the same item, so, plan B is I get the 6121 @ staples for somewhere close to that price after coupons, using no real money in the process.

what's the diff between 6121 and 6141?

Edit: figured it out. 8 channels downstream in 6141 vs 4 channels in 6121.

I just got my 6141 I ordered from that seller on saturday. Got it all hooked up and working. I had a 5101u and was getting about 16mb down and 4 up. tested with 6141 and had 35 down 5 up

is Time Warner your ISP provider by chance? i've read some TW customers complain that TW won't send their 6141 the latest firmware which motorola issued in august 2012. so they're stuck on the old firmware which can be buggy.

i'm on Comcast FWIW and the 6141 has been great and improved speeds. comcast was able to add it to my account within a few minutes and it has the latest firmware.

So, anyway, "don't" look at ebay for the 6141. You "can't" get it there cheaper. Maybe commenting on a deleted post gets deleted too. I didnt mean to offend. Just trying to help people get the slickest deal on the modem.

I bought a 6141 model from this thread on ebay ... total price was $67.50 shipped.

I can't find it for anywhere cheaper. Where do you suggest getting it cheaper?
