Been waiting on a decent deal for these, but obviously something happened to the shipment that newegg has. Not sure if I really want to go through the DOA hassle...and I dont think they pay return shipping.

this price has been on for a while. I bought two a month ago, also from newegg, with $10 off $50.
this is not a hot price, but still decent

correction: the price was even cheaper in January: 2 for 279.9 so cut it by 10

anyways, for those who are in need, 139 is not bad
but if one can wait, I am sure something better will come up, with these or Seagate

If there are dents in drive(s), that would be physical damage, maybe. I don't think the guarantee will cover this.

Been seeing alot of complaints about Newegg and how they pack them. Some indicate the drives came in foam lined boxes, yet they were still dented. That drove me to buying from Amazon, and of the 3 orders from them, no DOA's. All were packed in separate boxes with plastic end caps. Then all boxes were packed in a larger box, with air cushions on all sides. You decide who is serious about how they make money.

I have noticed that Amazon says they ship theirs now with WD certified packaging. Don't know why Newegg won't get on board with that too.

I've never had a problem with Newegg packaging. Methinks the reports are overstated.

I ordered 3 of these from newegg last time they were on sale with no issues - also did a 3 day burn-in and not a bad sector to be found.

In my case they shipped the 3 drives in one box that originally had 12(20?) Hitachi 3.5" harddrives in it, with the three drives in appropriately-sized cutouts in the foam drive carrier, extra cardboard around that and some air pillows to fill the rest of the space.

4TB or bust!

Will Fry's pricematch this?

I've had no issues with Fry's price matching. They do verify by going to the site and stuff, but it doesn't take too long.
