Choosing a laptop?
I am looking for at least 1600x900 resolution and must have a backlit keyboard.Only 13-14 inch screen(decent portability) Plan on using the laptop for; -Lots of excel, powerpoints, etc -Internet Browsing -HD Movies -DJing I was wondering if a core i3 would suffice or if I should opt out for a i5? Local Bestbuy has a deal(refurb) on a couple Sonys. Two E series 14P laptops; the i3 is $530, the i5 is 618. Or the S series 13P is $720. I have been looking at others like a Samsung Series 7 for $650. I'd prefer to stay under $800. Let me know of any others possibly? |

I paid $95 for my laptop and can do all the things you mention, although the resolution is only 1280 x 800. I'd go used and I'd go for a Thinkpad on Ebay. They are practically giving them away. Unless you are gaming with the latest games, there is no need for a new one. That's a little secret that the retailers are hoping you don't figure out.
