Not for those of us who live near a TD. The fact that it is a green drive kills it. There is no practical reason to open a case with a green drive in it.

I bought this drive in September 2011 and mine is still going strong. Its main purpose is a time machine drive. Its still running strong. Yes they are green drives in all of the elements boxes and most my books as well. I paid 109.99 from amazon in 2011 so this deal is just luke warm to me, no matter how bad the inflation rate of HD's has become due to the issues with the weather in the areas where these are mostly made.

Please note that this drive would not be bad to be used for an extra back up or long term limited access storage, but if you plan to R/W to the disk frequently, you should then look into buying either a RED WD drive or jump to seagate's 7200 drives like i just did. Cheaper and has the same life expectancy when it comes to my experiences.
