Appears you must take Road Hazard in addition to installation. Since I value the road hazard as close to $0 (having had bad experiences w/ road hazard warranties in the past), this dramatically decreases the value of the rebate.

I always get the road hazard, I live in a wooded mountainous area, and my tires never wear out due to age, they generally get damaged and fail, so the road hazard takes some of the bite out of replacement tires.

That said, I think Pep Boys does this deal relatively frequently.

I wonder if this rebate can be combined with the "20% Off Any Full-Priced Item" promo code on the web site. That would be a decent deal, and would offset the Road Hazard that they require you to buy. I'm trying to find cheap tires for the old car that use to commute to work, since I'm probably going to get rid of it in a year or so.

If the road hazard warranty was $10 or less per tire, I'd probably take it. But otherwise, based on my experience, I wouldn't. Here's my story why:

Was on a road trip far from home (in NC; I live in NJ) and got a flat that was not repairable. Had to replace that tire while in NC, and of course, you can't just put one new tire on the car; you have to replace the tire with a like one on the opposite side of the axle .
Called my local shop on NJ about the warranty; they said I'd have to bring the tire back to get the refund. So basically, I had to drive around for my vacation week with the tire in the back of the care taking up valuable luggage space (we were really loaded!) Plus, when I finally got home, I was reminded that the warranty is prorated, so I only got 50% back of the tire cost, and I got nothing back for the 2nd tire I had to replace.

TL;DR summary:
- Road hazards stink if you get a flat far from the dealer who offers the warranty (You have to bring the tire back to them to get the warranty)
- They are pro rated by tire life; great if you get a flat in the first few months; lousy after that
- They don't cover you for the matching 2nd "like" tire that you'll need to buy

Website specifically says " Not valid in combination with the 20% off any full priced tire offer, any other offers, rebates or discounts."

That's unfortunate that you can't combine the two offers. On it's face, the 20% promo code, combined with getting rid of the Road Hazard, should be a better deal than the buy 3 get one free rebate. Unfortunately, I discovered that the 20% promo code only applies to one item, so if you're ordering 4 tires, it only applies the 20% savings to one tire. I guess that you could make four separate tire orders, but I'm not sure that would work. Secondly, if the tire is not "In-Stock" at the store, they charge you shipping and handling! That easily makes this much less of a deal.

Did this and Pep boys has totally screwed this up.My tires were $100.99 each and they send me a Visa for $62. Trying to get it worked out, have to send them the original receipt so they can look at it.Since I originally did On Line submission

Not to make suggestions but...

Pitch that sorry excuse of a spare tire (the temp use one) and get a real one. Then you can use that until you get to the store that can replace/repair the covered tire.

Want road hazard on a tire that is perfectly fine but insist on them warranting 2 tires... Make the perfectly good second tire run in to a sharp object on or off the car it don't matter. a sidewall gash would get them to warranty it for you.

If you want nation wide coverage buy the tire from a shop that has nationwide coverage. Not a local shop that won't allow coverage outside of their shop.

Now for everyone. I put a set of tires on my van about a week ago that are on the list. I did not get the 10% discount. I can't exactly return and rebuy, but can I go get my 10%? since my van takes load range E tires it's a sizable chunk of change.
