Yeah, you need to find out who the OEM is. The older Insignia plasma TVs were all samsung, the newer plasmas are LG. Plasmas are easier to nail down because there are so few manufacturers of plasma screens left.
LCDs are a mixed bag and quality really varies from model to model. |

Not hating on the deal aspect, however these tvs are garbage. I wouldn't get an insignia if it were $75. $25 maybe just to YouTube me throwing it off a parking garage : ). Better off spending the extra money and getting a Samsung or LG. It'll end up costing the same as getting an insignia with a protection plan. You just won't have to ship your tv off for service every 3-4 months.

I have an Insignia 47" LCD from about 5 years ago. It's been working great except it's starting to get burn-in on the screen. Blu-rays look absolutely stunning on it, though.
