Took some effort, called a whole bunch of stores, went to 3 different stores, was shot down at 2 stores, 3rd one was a charm, spent $20 in gas and a couple of hours, but it was worth it in the end because it came at a time when I was going to buy two of the tools in the kit anyway. The cashier was puzzled and when she saw the price drop, she had that look of disbelief on her face and started verifying everything again! I just wanted to swipe my credit card and get the heck out of there. LOL.

Already started using them, awesome tools. Also, got the extended warranty since I saw it on one of the receipts posted here, then read horrible reviews of their EPP. Oh well!

It was a hard deal to get. OP was really lucky to be able to just walk-in and buy.

Congrats on the getting the deal. With a little(or maybe a lot of) luck, creativity, and persistance, the deal is there to be had.

I originally got the extended warranty since I got such a deal on the tools and wasn't sure of the manufacturer warranty, which I learned later to be 3 years. Then I decided to sell the tools. I went back to Home Depot and asked them if I could get a refund on the extended warranty since I was selling some of the tools to a friend.(a little white lie). After a phone call to the manager, the cashier refunded my $18. So if you're regretting getting the extended warranty, you can hopefully get a refund like I did.

I think I will keep the warranty since I'm going to be using the tools around my house and if the batteries don't hold charge after 1-2 years, I'll ask for a replacement, I hope they will honor it.

It was/is a crazy deal, just a single battery is $82 on amazon and this kit has two. Makes me smile everytime I look at my new Dewalt bag full of tools.

Couldn't have done it without the help of fellow sd'ers and for someone who wanted to know where I got this, it was in Central NJ.

Not sure if that will work as they usually RTV the merchandise bought online instead of restocking in store. So, they might not re-ring that for you, but worth a try, the worst case, you can return it for a full refund.
