If you don't need the Adobe RGB color space and you don't mind the high gloss, this is a very good panel.

If you have light shining onto the screen, look elsewhere.

This does use PWM. There is only one A-MVA panel on the market without PWM backlighting. That's a 27" BenQ that hasn't yet hit stores outside of China.

Apparently that is not 100% known.

According to TFT central, originally it stated it was not PWM backlighting, then revised their specs to reflect some users, mainly in Germany and Sweden, claiming it was PWM. Other review sites also claim it is not PWM backlighting. So YMMV

These users have been based elsewhere in Europe (Sweden and Germany) but it seems there may be some units of this screen which do in fact use PWM. It seems that perhaps there are different versions of this screen out there, and perhaps even some panel swapping going on? I would like to make the point that PWM dimming does not cause issues for most people, but I am including the note here for completeness and while we try to gather additional information about the screen and panels. It looks to me like Dell sent PWM-free units to review sites and then sold them with PWM to consumers. Panel "lotteries" of all types should be banned from the marketplace. If the USA were to have a decently responsible government, we wouldn't see them.

I agree 100% with needing a consumer friendly US government.

I might try to play the lottery and see how it works for me. If it bothers me too much, I can always return it and look at another brand entirely that doesn't use these types of tactics.
