Duluth is the location we had where they took an expired coupon. I didn't even notice when I gave it to them. He came back, brought it to our attention but said they would take it anyway.

been long time ... comparatively i prefer olive garden. But never had any problem with Carabbas in the past..love their food too.

Our only experience with Carrabba's was a couple of years ago when we were about to go on a tour of Italy with a group from work.
Our local guide had us meet at Carrabba's for our pre-trip info session because he thought it was the closest to authentic Italian.
Of course the food in Italy ran circles around Carrabba's but since we can't afford trips to Italy very often it will have to do.
Sorry about the folks who have had bad experiences.

I've been to Italy twice -- 2004 and 2009. We're going back to celebrate our 10th anniversary in 20014. So we'll have gone every five years since we've been married. Done Rome (twice), Naples, Pompeii, Capri (love it!), Venice and Florence. I think next time we go, we've got the Cinque Terre region and/or Positano on our radar.

But yes, this side of the pond, there is no better CHAIN Italian, IMHO.

went there again earlier this past week with a group of 6 people (3 couples). a member of our group had 3 different coupons, each one stating that you could only "use one per table".
we figured we'd give it a shot and try to use one per couple since we would have a separate tab per couple. the waitress came back and said she couldn't apply the coupons to everyone, but instead gave us $10 off on each of our 3 separate tabs.

the food and service there is outstanding! would highly recommend

I prefer Carrabbas when it comes to chain Italian restaurants. They have some unique dishes that I think they prepare well (I get the Rigatoni Martino almost every time...they don't have it on the menu anymore but they've made it for me each time for the past year or so). If I'm particularly hungry, I'll go with the chicken trio. I also like restaurants that have an open kitchen like they do. And the bread and dipping oil put Olive Garden's nasty garlic powdery breadsticks to shame.

You can certainly find more authentic local restaurants, but in terms of chains, I've always had good experiences there.

Carrabbas is owned by the restaurant group that also owns Outback, Bonefish and Flemings Steakhouse, and I'd generally consider the food at all of them (less Flemings which I've never been to) at about the same quality.

Anyone know if you can use the $10 off with the 3 course deal they just emailed out which runs from 3/4-3/7. It says not valid with any other offer or discount, but who knows. Some locations might let you use both. $14 for 2 3 course dinners would be pretty slick
