If my prescription from the eye doctor is different from what I'm ordering, will the rebate still be accepted?

OK, I finished putting the rebate together
for the 8 boxes purchased from visiondirect.

I filled in the info on the rebate form,
including the previous date of ordering lenses,
roughly a year ago.

I was sure this would force it to be a $25 rebate
as I was not "new"... I can even see last years order in
visiondirect's past orders list.

When I printed the final rebate form,
(the one I submit with box tops and receipts)
the form indicates a $50 rebate.

Not complaining. Smilie

... and yes, I checked drugstore.com... where there had been nothing,
now showing $7.64 in drugstore dollars that can be used in April.

Google offers currently has a $50 credit for $25. Does anyone know if this will stack with the volume discount/25% off coupon?

I HATE the stupid laws that stop you from being able to purchase contacts without a prescription within a year. It is like the optometrist lobby got a sweetheart deal from the US government. Absolute crap that i can't buy the same lenses and prescription that I have had for 15 years.

Don't think it would.. I don't see where you would even enter a gift card though when checking out on VD's site..

Legally, maybe you can't but I have never updated my prescription that's on file with these online companies. They are super lax about it. I just re-order every year and if my prescription changes a bit, then I just order the new lenses and I've never had to send in a new prescription(at least with lensdiscounters).

You can also save a few dollars by applying your VSP contact lens allotment(mine is $150) to the lens fitting co-pay. Usually the doctor's office will try to make you pay for the fitting co-pay out of pocket but you can use your lens allotment to pay for the co-pay and use the rest for a box or two of lenses, and then order the rest online.

Thanks for letting us know! In that case, the Google offers is not worth it then.

google has an awesome refund policy. I had a google offer that I didn't get around to using and it expired. I contacted google and they refunded the purchase price after it expired. Contact them if you want a refund.
