Advice for transferring out 250K+ to 'high' interest accounts?

I realize that I will be losing to inflation, there's no way to beat it unless i obviously go into severely riskier ventures; I will be looking into different options of investing after I square away transferring most of my money to a higher interest liquid account. As it would be foolish of me to go into an investment that i have not researched with any money that im not prepared to lose.

As for locking the money away in a CD or such, I dont know if the gain is worth it. The best rates I could find was 2% @ 5 year, double the money i would be getting from a money market, but I feel the rates will climb the next couple of years and the liquidity is worth more than 1%, especially since I plan on moving some of it to investments at a later date.
