Knock-Off Nutella 1$ BigLots

I have to completely disagree with you for the Kroger brand one (maybe it has changed since you last tried it?). I don't have krogers in my town, but my sister buys it for me when she comes to visit. Kroger Crunchy Hazelnut Spread has replaced the branded Nutella for me. The spread itself is very good and the hazelnut pieces are an amazing addition (haven't tried the creamy one).

i find that these quotes are pretty interesting. seeing that its "made in italy" instantly gives a consumer reassurance that its not fake? as if there are no fake items in italy...there are fake things everywhere, not just china.

big lots has nutella for 2 last time i was there..so..

You can still pick up imported nutella from any italian or specialty supermarket, it'll come in a glass jar as opposed to plastic and you can also tell by the ingredients

Just picked up a few- Expiration ranges from aug - nov 2013

Many of the jars had loose caps and the contents were melted (the shelf location was not in direct sunlight and the store temp was not warm.
I assume they just loaded these from a warm location.

will give it a try tomorrow and give u guys feedback.

just picked up 3 bottles and it tastes very similar to nutella

I tried Jif Chocolate Hazelnut Spread [jif.com] and it was terrible compared to Nutella. I'll see if I can find a local Big Lots that has this. I love Nutella, but it gets very pricey.

even if it says made in italy or usa....it can still be made in china....n then ship to usa or italy...all they do is do some packing....or stickers...then boom made in italy or any countries....
they wont let u know its made in china.....

Did you notice the "Lead" I put in the Leadtella? That might just correspond to China's proficiency for chemically tainting a ridiculous number of goods they produce. You may have seen it on the news over the last few years. Sure, it happens everywhere, but China takes poisoning to a whole different level.

Kidding aside, this stuff is pretty good as long as one keeps it in proportion. The very first ingredient in this is Sugar lol.

Ummm...not legally. And not without any sort of disclaimer. I don't buy my groceries on the black market, so I'm not concerned about that. Even if, I seriously doubt Italy is going to vouch for a product they haven't tested themselves that comes from a country as corrupt as China. As far as the trustworthiness of Big Lots, who knows.

The Aldi's one is okay, I had tried it multiple times. The Nutella brand is the best among all those spread chocolate, but it's kinda expensive and the Euro version is only available in some ethnic stores which is even more expensive than the Canadian version...

This stuff is TERRIBLE!

I had to waste some time between work and walked around a Big Lots looking for random stuff, and saw this and the real Nutella next to it. Price on Nutella was better than every other store so I bought some and one of this.

Tasted it the next day, had a weird acidic taste to it, nothing like what Nutella tastes like! Wound up tossing it in the trash and eating some delicious Genuine Nutella instead. I kinda wanted a refund but wasnt going to waste $4 in gas for a $2 refund.

Just pay 50 cents or a dollar more for real, good Nutella, and spread it thinner if you're worried about money.
