I will chime right in here.... I have a surface RT and honestly, I feel that the surface RT is faster than the X2. I don't know if I got a dud or something, but I have been using chrome on the x2 and maybe its apples to oranges being chrome vs IE but I prefer web surfing on the RT 100%more.

If you look at processor specs, they make it look like the X2 is much faster... in real world, its not quite as fast. Thats my 2c

so then you wouldnt sell the RT to get this then? I was also thinking this would be faster than the RT. Overall the RT is better?

Actually I am going to be returning mine because I like the RT better. The RT feels sturdier and I have yet to had it lock up or "bug out". I have had the X2 already become unresponsive at times and have weird problems. I was in class this evening and the professor was going on about stuff to review for an upcoming exam, the computer locked up while I was typing and I had to resort to my legal pad to write everything down. Somewhat embarassing seeing as I just got the thing, fully updated bios, etc (note it didnt ship with updated bios).

Long story short... the RT seems more reliable if you dont mind living w/o .exe files.

Sidenote... I am going to do a compairason of this, the surface rt, and the XPS 12 over the weekend. Its going to be apples to oranges to pears, but I have actually had several people ask me about which is better/best

Sweet, thanks for the love. I tend to swap hardware often because I live in a larger city and the craigslist is good to me so usually the cost of upgrading is nearly lateral. I can't wait to score a surface pro for cheap. *Rt sidenote too... if you have not tried the type keyboard, its miles better than the touch one if you type alot. If its just a few sentences here and there, no biggie, but if its 20 page motions to dismiss like me, its leaps and bounds better.

Its interesting that u say that because I just sold my VivoTab RT because it would freeze up on me all the time. I ended up keeping the Acer W510 and I find the Envy X2 the fastest of the 3. I did a presentation with it in class yesterday without a hitch. I do use the w510 the most though because its smaller and lighter to hold

The 510 seems pretty cool but 10.1 is not my cup of tea. I desperately need a full size keyboard.

The x2 is quick enough but I still find it shuddering with 720p youtube videos.

Np! I've been so torn on keeping the Rt or going with the Envy x2, now I'm not. I agree. I could type fast on the touch keyboard, but it was nothing compared to the type keyboard. Sold the touch on eBay and love the type. I have a HP Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook, so I skipped on the Pro this time around. Really like my Envy Ultrabook, so that had me interested in the X2. No longer thanks to your help.

I bought one of these for my Grandfather. It makes ultra books look like a joke; it gets over 10 hours of battery life easilly.
