I don't get all the opposition with this. This is not a dedicated laptop...its a convertible tablet. Its a tablet with a fully functional OS on it. Something you wont find with android or an iPad. Yes the specs are not that impressive, but this is a niche device. Its perfect for what it was meant to be...a tablet that can convert to a small laptop when needed. Given that all of the other makers of similar spec. cost MORE than this WITHOUT the keyboard, this is a spectacular deal! The versions that come with i series processors cost $900 to $1000 without the keyboard and up to $1300 through $1500 with. Don't get me wrong...i love my android phone, and the iPad is great, but ill take a fully functional OS Windows tablet over them any day of the week, and at this price, its a steal regardless of its specs. I don't see anyone complaining about the price of the iPad. If your going to complain over the price of this...then you might as well complain over that...Apple is the king of charging an arm and a leg for horrendously obsolete hardware, and their $700 iPad doesn't come with a keyboard.
By quarter 3 this year the next generation Atom will be out which will be much faster than the current, being a quad core, and Intel is even working on an i series processor that is even more of a power miser than the current i3217U. At that time we will see a nice performance boost. Problem is that those tablets will cost $850 when they first come out. That being said...again...this is a good deal. dont every buy anything with intel atom, it is entirely useless, i had a tablet with atom, and it could barely run the os let alone the basic calculator... it is the crappiest excuse for a processor i have ever seen, needless to say that tablet went back to the store the next day

I see this as a pretty good deal. Back in the day I had a Motion Computing tablet. Full Windows and OneNote with a stylus was very handy. If the stylus comes out this is a great device for a mobile professional.

they make it sound like the atom can do everything as long as you dont over do it, it cant hardly do anything nomatter how many tabs you have open or how ever much you separate tasks. if it was an i3 it would be a great deal or even a amd dual core or triple core it would be fine |
