attached is the nationwide 20% off "everything you can fit in the ECObag" coupon, as well as my receipt. It worked out pretty easy; grabbed the bag upon walking in, went to the shelf and grabbed the empty display box and brought it to the counter. Waited for the clerk to go back and get the actual SSD, ring it up, then handed the coupon on my phone. It's a generic code so it is good for everybody to use.

This is the best price I have seen yet on this size drive w/ complete kit (outside of BF deals) without having to deal with the hassle of rebates, price matching, targeted coupons, etc.. Motivation enough to jump on it, even though I was holding out for the OCZ Vertex 4, due to the price point; this SSD will be plenty for anyone who does not need it for professional/enterprise use. IIRC, this is a toshiba drive w/ sandforce controller that is assembled and modified by Kingston. Good reviews, quality company, no hassle @ a decent price.

$89.99 - 20% = $71.99 + tax (where applicable)

It should be noted that this includes the complete transfer/upgrade kit, which is comprised of;

3.5" brackets w/ mounting screws
5.5" USB enclosure
SATA power/data cable
HD cloning software
installation DVD

To get both discounts without "asking" for the 20% discount, simply grab the ecobag and a ream of paper or anything else that will work with the 20% off. Get the SSD, present the OD coupon. Then hand them the ream of paper and the 20% off coupon. The SSD will automatically accept the 20% off, so you don't need to ASK for it. Getting both discounts will bring the 120GB drive down to $51 (.42/gb) and the 240GB drive down to $107(.44/gb).

The Office Depot "30% off one regularly priced item" coupon worked for me. I walked into a Staples (not the one I made the original purchase at), and simply asked to take advantage of their price match guarantee for competitor coupons since I found a better one after I made the purchase. They did a return & re-buy, applied 30%off, and that left the total at $62.99 + tax.

I was also able to execute the OD coupon price match as well but opted for the Kingston SSDnow V300 240GB drive. So $189.99 - $57 = 132.99 + tax.
Then I went ahead and got the original posted deal plus 3X WD My Passport 320GB USB 3.0 HDD at $40 (clearance price) - $8 (20% off) = $32 each. laugh out loud

the increase in tech (read/write speeds,etc.) alone, IMO, would be worth the $10 difference. The v300 is already using an aged Sandforce controller—even though it has some of the latest Toshiba NAND—which is why the pricing is dropping; sandforce is due to release a new controller soon enough.

went to 2 different Staples' and noticed that they seem to only stock the SSDnow V300 and the HyperX 3K SSD's.

That's an older, lesser drive from what I understand. I believe that the OP's SSD is more of a replacement for V+200 drive. Kingston's flagship drive is the HyperX 3K.

It's a front page deal dude. They have the coupon right on their homepage so it's not one of those "limited" things like some of the Staples coupons of the past. Should be right here [officedepot.com] over on the right side.

I don't think that they'll read into it that much. They'll most likely treat it the same way that they treat their own coupons. For example, if they normally don't accept these % off coupons for computers, then they probably wont accept a competitor's coupon for that (despite no such restrictions on the coupon). If anyone is gonna try to go for this, take both coupons with you (Staples & OD). What's the worst they can say, no?

I also don't understand the thumbs down. I know that this is probably somewhat YMMV, but this is still a reasonable price for a SSD lately.

If this is the full kit, you pretty much gain an external storage drive with the kit using your old platter drive assuming you're using it in a laptop... little bit of added value. I would have gone for the smaller v200 drive for less than $50 instead if they sold them in store.
