It's a bit faster and one of their top of the line ones, this one is the "economy" version if you wanna say, the writing speed should be much faster. But even then, real-life performance is minimal.

V300 does not mention it has a TRIM support as opposed to Hyperx. At least I don't see that on Kingston website.

Yes, it's Kingstons top series I believe. I'm pretty sure it's ranked in the top tier or top two tiered MLC SSDs available.

Considering I JUST enabled TRIM support on this SSD within Mountain Lion with no adverse effect, I think it's supported.

Thanks for confirming that,it'd still be weird for Kingston to not say that in product description of v300 but would describe Hyperx to support TRIM,that made me kind of wondering.

You should've just walked out with your money in your wallet! $115 is what I ended up paying for the 240GB on Tuesday (30% & 20% coupons). I meant to head back to that same Staples (Annapolis MD) on Thursday to see if I could get that deal again, but I didn't really have time. Besides, they were most likely sold out by then. I would still call corporate and tell them the BS line the manager gave you about a SSD being a business machine. Maybe they could kick a credit or coupons your way. I would still take the thing back.

Yeah, I don't think that there's any consumer grade, standard interface/sized SSDs out there anymore that don't support TRIM. It's pretty much been the standard for a couple years now.

I can say with confidence that all modern SSDs within this year and probably last all have TRIM, maybe when they first came out they did not, but almost all of them come standard now.

I'm going to try to call corporate tomorrow first and see what they say and if they cannot do anything about it I'll just return the drive and wait for something else. Hold on to the coupon in case you end up needing it or some else ends up wanting one bad. Btw I'm signed up with their email and rewards and i never get these in my emails, is there something else i have to do also in order for them to start sending coupons.
