Running shoes and basketball shoes could not be further apart. Nobody worth a shit is ever going to claim any shoe is good for both.

These shoes would likely not be suited for doing anything other than walking around walmart in, but they are closer to a running shoe than a basketball shoe.

Running shoe = light weight, no ankle support, high shock absorption at the cost of energy return, articulation control, etc...

Basketball shoe = whatever weight, lots of ankle support, and sacrifice shock absorption for high energy return, control, etc...

it likely depends on how serious you are about your sports. these would likely be fine for casual sports of any nature (tennis, volleyball, basketball, jogging, etc). the longevity might not be great, but they'll do.

if you are talking about running hundreds of miles in a season, or playing serious hoops a couple times a week, you'd probably want to invest more in equipment that will last longer and is designed for specific functions (see above post), which also helps mitigate injury.
